When thinking about what to make for dinner there may be many options in your mind but there aren't that many that are in your budget, especially when you are a broke college student. You may also face an issue as many cheap meals are not good for you and offer little to no nutritional value which is not great for someone who is attempting to live a healthier lifestyle by eating healthy meals at home for cheap. So, our goal is to help you find some easy recipes that can be easily made, are cheap, and also good for you.

Vegies and rice
This is an extremely easy meal to make on the stove top and is also very cheap. All you need is a frozen bag of vegetables which is only about 1 dollar at the store and a bag of rice which is also very cheap. After making your rice you can throw it in a pan on the stove with some oil to cook in then throw your vegetables in and mix together and add any spices you desire with your meal. After it is all cooked and mixed you can add things like soy sauce to give it some extra flavor.

Eggs
This one may seem very simple but that is exactly what we want as there are so many ways to make eggs and they offer a lot of protein and nutritional value. The first way to make them is scrambled which is probably the easiest way and seems to be the most popular. Another way is over easy which is great when paired with other foods like toast as it allows you to dip into the yolk when cooked right. And lastly you can make omelets with them, and this can be great when paired and mixed with other things like ham, onions or even cheese which will take your breakfast to the next level.

Potato's
This is another option that can be prepared in many ways and offers lots of nutritional value. I would say the first option when preparing them is mashed potatoes which are very simple to make, and you can add gravy to them or even cheese and bacon to give it that right flavor for your liking. Baked potatoes are also an easy option as you just need to throw them in the oven and let cook (Restaurant tip roll them in bacon grease and salt to give the skin amazing flavor). And if you aren't feeling all potato's, you can make many different soups with it, and these can be great for a cold fall day.

Grilled chicken
I know this one seems a bit basic and maybe a little more expensive now with the price of chicken going up, but it is a great healthy food that will fill your stomach. Many people like to season their chicken up and make herb chicken or even have things like BBQ sauce covering the chicken breast, but you can also do things like chicken tacos or even chicken and rice which is probably one of the best filling meals for you as well as offering a ton of nutritional value. So, in my opinion, paying a little bit extra for chicken breast is worth it when seeing the value, it can have on your appetite.
The main idea
We are not saying that you must eat these foods and it is the only way to be healthy on a budget, but it is definitely something that will help you and your wallet. We think that with these suggestions on meals and the way you can prepare them you will have a better time deciphering what to buy at the store and what meals you should make to satisfy your appetite.
